Misha Stepanov
Right now I'm an assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Arizona. I also work in the Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Photonics Laboratory (on leave). I graduated from Novosibirsk State University (NSU), physics department. Earlier I studied at the math-phys class of school #130, Novosibirsk. Even earlier (1974) I was born in Novosibirsk, Akademgorodok.
I like to listen music (e.g., “Requiem” by W.A. Mozart, songs by Alexander Bashlachev and by Yanka Dyagileva). I enjoy reading science fiction by Arkadi and Boris Strugatsky.
My father is a system programmer at UniPro, mother is a leading engineer at the Institute of Informatics Systems. Both studied at NSU.
My brother Alexey Stepanov is at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign now. He and his wife Heidi Stepanova have two sons, Nicholas and Andrew.
